The Escape had me hooked from page one. I know when a book has got me when I am thinking about the plot whilst I am walking my dog. This one certainly had me preoccupied for the 3-4 days that it took me to read it. I have read and enjoyed all of CL Taylor's books and she just gets better and better. I love the fact the story was set in real places like Bristol, Chester, and in the Republic of Ireland, Drogeheda and Clogerhead. The author describes each of these places well, and has shaped her characters in the same way I would be as if I was really meeting them. That is to say, you are never quite sure about someone until you know them. In this book, I didn't quite know who to believe. Well crafted from start to finish.
