About Mark Tilbury
Mark lives in a small village in the lovely county of Cumbria, although his books are set in Oxfordshire where he was born and raised. After serving in the Royal Navy and raising his two daughters after being widowed, Mark finally took the plunge and self-published two books on Amazon, The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused. This book became the Abattoir of my dreams. It must have penetrated my subconscious, because on two separate nights I woke up to read a few chapters and felt myself being physically dragged into a nightmare that I could not have conjured up on my own. Mark Tilbury's prose certainly packed an almighty punch with me. One of the most powerful novels I have ever read. Michael Tate wakes up in hospital paralysed from the waist down, suffering from amnesia, accused of murdering his girlfriend, (who he does not remember), and prey to the police inspector from hell. If that was not enough to contend with he slipped in and out of reality, which was the really clever parts of the book that had such an impact on me. I have never read a book like it, as far as I'm concerned it is in a class of its own. How can you follow that Mr Tilbury?
