About David Beckler

I spent my first eight years living on an agricultural college in rural Ethiopia, where my love of reading developed. After dropping out of university I became a firefighter and later a businessman. I began writing in 2010, working on my first novel in my spare time, a crime thriller called Brotherhood. I like writing about protagonists with a strong moral code who don't fit in with conventional society. I also enjoy writing about baddies and how they arrived at their fallen state. When not writing I try to keep fit, socialise and feed my voracious book habit.

My Review

This is the second of the two novellas that introduce us to the Mason & Sterling Thrillers series. Byron Mason and Adam Sterling were both in active service together in the Royal Marines, and now years later, although Byron lives in London running his security firm, and Adam is a fireman in Manchester, the bond between them is inseverable and they are there for each other when they get into scrapes, which is inevitable as trouble is always just around the corner for these two tough guys. Byron's security firm is at risk when he asks Gideon Metzler, who has loan shark on his CV amongst other dodgy dealings, to extend his loan. Metzler accommodates Byron with conditions that are unacceptable to Byron and also illegal. Like 'Forged In Flames' (novella #1) this is action from start to finish. A great start to this series.
