Murder Unearthed by Anita Waller

The Blurb

When DI Tessa Marsden is called to a road traffic accident, she is disturbed by the crime scene she must investigate. She now has a double murder to contend with; two dead girls from the same village. Realising the murders aren’t linked, Marsden summons the help of the Connection Investigation Agency, run by Kat, a church Deacon, Beth, (known affectionately as Mouse), a computer expert, and Doris, Beth’s feisty grandmother. When it is discovered that one of the murdered girls was pregnant the case takes an unexpected turn. Can DI Marsden, with the input of Kat and Mouse, solve the case before another body appears? Meanwhile, the agency has been asked to track down the long lost son of Ewan Barker. Will Kat, Mouse and Doris find him and reunite him with his father? This might just be their toughest investigation yet…

About Anita Waller

I live in Sheffield, UK. I am retired and have recently fulfilled my lifelong ambition of becoming a published author with Bloodhound Books. I am married (almost 50 years to Dave) with three children and seven grandchildren. I am a patchwork and quilting tutor as well as a writer. My first book was Beautiful and my second, a sequel to Beautiful, is called Angel.

My Review

I've now read the third Kat & Mouse book in the 'trilogy' which I understand is going to go on to become a quadrilogy with a fourth due for release in October. A driver runs off the road and dies, and DI Tess Marsden suspects that the crash victim may have buried a body of a woman, due to mud on his clothing, on a shovel in the car, and the discovery of one female shoe. Two murder victims are found in seperate locations but are they connected by the same killer? Tess turns to Connection, the private investigation company that is run by Kat and Mouse and the indomitable Doris, (who really shows her muscle in this episode) who are able to look at the case through minds that have not been conditioned by a police training manual. In other words they think outside the box. Meanwhile, there is plenty going on with the Connection business, with a couple of investigations going on. In summary you get a lot for your money in a Kat and Mouse episode, with never a dull moment.
