The Blurb:

A young man hears a voice, compelling him to write the story of his life. About a father, and brother, he adores. And perhaps a mother, who got lost in the shuffle. But there’s so much more. The voice convinces him others might benefit from his tale. That they too could overcome loss as a result. So Jason writes his emotional journey.

About Shervin Jamali:

Shervin Jamali has been writing for as long as he can remember as he had so many stories

“locked away” but it wasn’t until he completed the first draft of ‘The Devil’s Lieutenant’ (2016) that he decided to turn his writings into books. His books are the perfect outlet for his daytime job as an IT consultant and he looks forward to the day he will be a full-time writer.

After having lived in sunny Florida, Shervin Jamali now resides in Knoxville, Tennessee. In his spare time, Shervin likes to put together jigsaw puzzles whilst contemplating plots for his next book.

My Review:

Having read Shervin Jamali’s previous work, ‘The Devil’s Lieutenant’, and it’s sequel ‘Escape From Hell’, which was  dark and satanic tale, which I thoroughly enjoyed, I had discovered that there is a softer side to Mr Jamali when he wrote the novella ‘Remember’ a love story with a difference, that was an emotional and spiritual reading experience.

As the title of this work may suggest, this is another love story, a story of family love.

This charts the life of Jason, from the earliest days of his life, and his relationship with his father and brother, until his mid-thirties when he experience the joys and sorrows of being a father himself.

Without giving out any spoilers, I will say it is a deep study of loss within the family and the gamut of emotions associated with grief, which many of us experience at some point in our lives, but most of us will never fully understand.

There is a metaphysical element to the story that serves as enlightenment to lift the protagonist from the “darkness” that surrounds him.

I found ‘I Love You Too Daddy’ an audaciously uplifting short story that brightened up my day.
